I wish I had a walk in freezer

To hide all the dead bodies. Of course.

Not really. I want it so the next time I get sunburned I can just crawl into it for a few hours. Or so when I find my own method for cryogenic freezing I will already have an place to stash my body. Not that I particularly want to go into cryo, seems like a waste of time. Knowing my luck I would end up like Mr. Freeze from Batman, never able to leave the cold suit thingy.

This would not look good on me. (photo).
Saturday was my Mommy's birthday (she's real old) and we did a picnic lunch birthday party thing. I totally spaced grabbing sunscreen. So did everyone else in my family, we all got burned a little but I got burned a whole lot. It hurts, it hurts like crazy bad. Getting sunburned seems to short circuit my ability to critically analyze ideas. Not like that particular ability is stable normally (hah, never). Because of that I now have a list of things you should never put on your sunburned skin.

Things that don't work on sunburns:
1.Body scrub
(bad, bad idea. I thought that if I used something that exfoliates skin it would help scrap off the burnt skin and I would get better faster. I have no idea if that actually worked, all I know is that if felt like rubbing my skin with sand paper. Not fun).

2. Vitamin E cream
(It just doesn't do anything, it hurts to rub on and does nothing useful).

3. Pain-a-trate
(It's basically the equivalent of icy/hot, I did not know that when I put it on. I would not have tried to use if if I had known that. I just thought it was a topical cream that numbed the skin, which sounded fabulous).

4. Clothes
(Sunburns make me want to join an indoor nudist colony).

Things that work on sunburns:
1. Aloe
(It's the most wonderful stuff ever. Unless it's straight from the plant, in which case it smells awful).

2. Ice
(I am not sure if this actually helps but it makes me feel better).

My style gaming

Several of my siblings and friends game. And by that I mean they play games that have story arches and real people writing quests and stuff. I play arcade style games, like Tetris.

I love Tetris. It is the best game ever. It is also very mind numbing. After so many hours of playing Tetris I go outside and look at the skyline and imagine what Tetris pieces would fit best into it.

If someone made me a ring like that I would marry them. Minimal questions asked.
I pretty much adore Tetris. It's such a sleek game. All the pieces fit (mostly) nicely together and it can be challenging (playing Tetris while several caffeinated is difficult). My mother bought me a Tetris card game for Christmas and it is fantastic. At first it was rather confusing (I am not even going to attempt to explain here) but if you love Tetris I would strongly suggest playing it with friends.

Hedgehog Launch and Hedgehog Launch 2 are extremely addicting games from addictinggames.com . Which really, the website explains everything. My first year of college (possibly in high school) best friend (nurse) showed me this game. And I didn't stop till I beat it, which took way longer than it should have. The whole point of the game is to launch the hedgehog into space. Super exciting. I guess that game has a story line, if you really stretch the meaning of story line. Each turn you take to get the hedgehog in space is considered one day and they least amount of days gets the better score. It's a lot of fun, kind of stupid but fun.

I can fly, if I have fuel.

And finally, the game I've played obsessively since ... I don't even know when. Minesweeper. Best game ever. We are just going to ignore the fact that it is part of Windows. (I really do not like Windows. Like really don't like). I love this game. I will play it for hours. Hours. At one point in my life I played it so often I started dreaming in Minesweeper. I would not suggest doing that. It's weird.

I think I have gotten close to that time before.

Last year for my birthday I got a Minesweeper cupcake cake. It was fantastic. The cupcakes that were mines had raspberry filling, super yummy!

I lurve you Nangela!

Post card, mug and a Texan

The trip down to here was horrific. We left Casper on Thursday night and stayed in Denver because our flight left around 8ish in the morning. Thanks to all the new airport security measures we had to be at the airport before 6 a.m. May you never have to do that.

My mother was epic fail when purchasing the tickets. She bought my sister a ticket under her maiden name. When she called Southwest to change it, they said she had to cancel the ticket and buy one at the current ticket price. That didn't happen because the ticket prices had sky rocketed. So my sister had to go hunt down her birth certificate and her old and new social security cards. She never threw her old one away when she got married.

Security wasn't nearly as bad I as I thought it was going to be. It was pretty much the same as before, no pat downs. But they did have one of those new fangled things that use x-rays. My mother had to go through that one and it said that the top of her head and her left wrist had to much metal in them. Even the security guards thought that was odd. We didn't even need our id's to get onto the plane. They had posts with numbers on them and we had to line up by ticket numbers and then they let us on the plane.

It felt like I was back in kindergarten.

The hotel has been an experience. The very first day we couldn't get the key cards to work. A desk worker came up and stuck this weird looking thing in and got the door open. Turns out that those key card doors are run by batteries and ours had run out of juice. The desk worker ended up having to replace the batteries but the door still didn't work so he had to get the maintenance people to replace the lock. It still doesn't work that well. Either that or no one in my family can get it to work. Some of the keys they gave us haven't worked either. It was definitely a new experience. If an unwanted one.

So far Texas has been fun. Yesterday hit the 90's, which wasn't fun. It feels like summer for Wyoming. Kind of sad since it's now fall there.

One of my mom's students collects postcards and my sister collects mugs. They were talking in the car about what they wanted to pick up as a keep sake. I told them I just wanted a Texan with really big boots. It took my mother a few minutes to catch what I said.

We have rented a Dodge Charger. The car is freaking awesome, it has a touchscreen radio control thingy. The only thing that sucks is the middle seat in the back is sooooo not comfortable. It's tiny and hurts my back to sit there. Thankfully we don't drive for more than a few minutes everyday.

Why February Rocks!

February is the coolest month in the year.Hands down. There are no other competitors. Not even close. You want to know why?

It has nothing to do with Valentines day. Not a freaking thing.

It's not because of the weather either.

And, contrary to what you are probably thinking, it is not because my birthday is in February.

Nope. It's none of those things.

It's the fact that February is the only month in the year with exactly 28 days. Do you know the importance of that statement?

That means that February is the only, and I mean only, month that has exactly four weeks long. Except for once every 4 years, but that is really not February's fault.

I will talk more about this issue later. But right now one to more important things.

I had a birthday party last night. No it was not on the day of my birthday, but who cares? Not me.

It was the most spectacular birthday ever! My loverly friends made me a minesweeper cake! How freaking awesome is that? Pretty freaking amazing. Plus they got me a Tinker Bell candle, and nothing is cooler than Tinker Bell.

Not only did I get an amazing cupcake minsweeper master piece they also bought me presents. I LOVE getting presents. It's fabulous.

I got a hilarious mug from Tay. (I will try and post pictures later). A desk vacuum in the shape of a pig from Court. A gift card from Joe (To the magical world of Barnes & Noble, I am secretly in love with Joe right now. Not like that! He has a girlfriend who is freaking fabulous!) Some super fab earrings from Aprille, they are ubber cute!

And to top it all off I got a package from my mom. Not just any package. Get this it was ...

A party in a box!

I kid you not. She packed up everything I would need to have an awesome party and sent it to me. Down to table confetti and a bubble machine (I now own a bubble machine, eeek!). Mommy also put presents in so that I would have something to open on my birthday (which I would never have opened last night after the party ... not me).

This was, by far, the best birthday party I've ever had. I have fantastic friends that know how to throw a rock'n party.
